Well Mother Nature finally cooperated
and enabled Moler Raceway Park to
get the 2009 season started. As with
any opening night it was quite
interesting though as the rains that
had plagued the spring definitely
impacted the racing surface.

In the Sunesis Construction Late
Models there were 27 cars on hand
with Derek Fisher, Mike Jewell, Arnie
Fields ,and Wayne Chinn claiming heat
race victories. The action got started
quickly as Ed Eschmann Jr got upside
down in the first heat which was a sign
of things to come. In B-main action it
was Dean Boyd claiming victory. In the
feature it was all Wayne Chinn as he
mastered the rough surface to lead
every lap and take the checkered flag
in his Erwin Chrysler,Dodge, Jeep, CJ
Rayburn chassis machine. Coming
home second was Fisher, followed by
Greg Johnson, Barry Doss, and Jewell
rounding out the top five.

In the Cheapbowlingballs.com modified
division it was Doug Adkins and Dave
McWilliams taking heat race victories
but an incident in heat race number
two in which Daryl Phelps flipped in
turn three bringing the event to an
abrupt halt. In the feature it was Adkins
and McWilliams leading them down
with Adkins getting the jump but
something broke on the car on lap two
which allowed McWilliams to lead from
there. Another incident took place on
lap four as Ron Strack went head-on
into the turn three as he hit the fence
and rolled onto his top. Strack was
okay, and after some clean-up time the
race continued. As the race continued
it was Chuck Griffis flying through the
field and just nipping McWilliams by a
nose at the line for the victory. Ray
Branscum got 3rd with Matt Hamilton
and Shawn Tolson rounding out the
top five.

In the Holman Motors Chevette class
there were 28 chevettes on hand. The
feature event was all Jeff Watson as
he shot from his 3rd starting spot into
the lead and despite some late
challenges from Miles Tarvin never
relinquished the lead. Tarvin came
home 2nd with Josh Francis, Kevin
Riggs, and Rusty Yarger rounding out
the top five.

In the US Race Gear Street Stock
division it was Jeremie Bretz from
Maysville, Ky taking his first feature win
at MRP. Chad Minnie came home
second with John Baker, Chad Barr ,
and Rick Fields rounding out the top
five.   The 1200cc Winged Sprints put
on a great show for their heat races
but will be doing a make-up feature on
their next return to MRP.   Thanks to
everyone and we’ll see you next week!!

April 25th, 2009 - Another Night of
Great Racing is in the books at Moler
Raceway Park.
On a beautiful Saturday night 86 race
cars entered the pits and a great
crowd was on hand.

In the Sunesis Construction Late
Model Class Arnie Fields and John
Sizemore brought the field of 20 to the
green flag.  But once again “The
Sniper”, Wayne Chinn charged to the
front of the pack from his 13th position
starting spot and going on to win for
the second week in a row.

In the Cheap Bowling Balls UMP
Modified Class Doug Adkins and Bruce
Gould, III, battled for the win, with
Bruce finishing a strong second in his
first night out at MRP and Doug Adkins
went on to take the win.

In the US Race Gear Street Stock
Class, racing for $600 to win it was
Jeremy Bretz winning for the second
week in a row at MRP.  This was after
a great battle with Wayne Hughes who
would finish second, and was the first
in Victory Lane to congratulate Jeremy
for the big win.

In the Holman Motors GMC Chevette
Class, 2008 Track Champion Miles
Tarvin took the early lead and looked
like he would go on to another feature
win.  But as the leaders were working
their way through lapped traffic Tarvin
found himself behind a slower car and
Brandon Elam went low to make a
great pass and went on to win his first
feature of the season with Kevin Riggs
coming in second  and last week’s
winner, Jeff Watson, third and Tarvin
came in fourth.

Next week MRP will resume its regular
Friday night schedule on May 1st.

Mother Nature Finally Plays Nice
with MRP!!

With over 100 cars in the pits, the
fans at Moler Raceway Park were
treated to some great racing on
Friday night. In the Sunesis
Construction Late Model Division it
was Billy Williams, Chad Stapleton
and John Sizemore winning heat
races with Mike Myers claiming the B-
main event. Come feature time there
was some great racing throughout
the top ten but Chad Stapleton
looked as though he was going to
be the man to beat. At the midpoint
it was John Whitney coming to the
front from his 9th starting spot. But it
looked like Barry Doss was going to
run him down. Following a couple of
minor cautions and restarts Whitney
showed he was not going to be
beat.  Taking the win in his Stephan
Heating and Cooling,
Amaze-a-Stitch Embroidery Machine
he was followed across the line by
Barry Doss, Stapleton, Arnie Fields,
and Larry Pickelheimer Jr.

In the Cheapbowlingballs.com
Modified division it was Chuck
Griffis, Ray Branscum, and Doug
Adkins winning heat race events. In
the feature it was all Ray Branscum
as the Walton,Ky driver led every
lap but it was a great battle behind
him a Rick Bingham and Doug
Adkins traded the second position
throughout the 20 laps. In the end
Branscum in his Ky Speed
Performance, RBI Truck Repair,
Cincy Driveline machine was just too
much as he piloted to his first win of
the season at MRP!! Adkins came
home second with Bingham, Brad
Weick, and Jeremie Bretz (started
16th) coming home in the top five.

In the Holman Motors Chevette
division there were 30 cars on hand.
Miles Tarvin, Jeff Watson, and Kris
Parker started the night with heat
race wins and Daryl Weiss winning
the B-main. In the 15 lap A-main it
looked like Kris Parker was going to
be the man to beat as he led the
first 14 laps but on the final lap Miles
Tarvin was able to get underneath
him heading down the backstretch
into turn three. As they raced side-
by-side through turn three Parker
spun around which allowed Tarvin to
cruise to his first win of the season
and taking home an extra $300
sponsored by Holman Motors GMC
or the winners in May!! Jeff Watson
came home second with Josh
Francis,Paul Luers, and Eric
Dearing.

In the US Race Gear Street Stock
division it looked like Craig Naylor
was going to win the heat race but
Jeremie Bretz was able to sneak by
at the finish and take the win. In the
feature event it was all Bretz as he
led flag-to-flag in his H&H
Continuous Guttering, Gitter Done
Graphics sponsored machine. Mark
Kaetzel came home second with
John Baker, Naylor, and Paul Baker
rounding out the top five.

Rounding out the action was the
VARC antique cars. As always they
vintage machines made a night of it
by showing off  their cars for the
fans in the stands and then on the
race track. In the end it was the
“Racing Farmer” Mike Mason in his
1979 midget taking the exhibition win
over John Lawhorn and his 1970
Champ car!!  Come out next Friday,
May 29th for Armed Forces Night

It was Armed Forces Night at MRP and
with the evening’s festivities being
kicked off with the Marine Color Guard
and Pastor Carl Trent performing the
invocation and Pledge of Allegiance
the race fans were treated to a great
night of racing action.  In the Sunesis
Construction Late Models it was the
Sniper Wayne Chinn topping the 25
car qualifying chart with a 13.169 lap.
In the dash it was Grayson, Kentucky’s
Josh McGuire leading the way and
taking the win. In heat race action it
was Chad Stapleton and Scott James
leading the way with Billy Williams
claiming the B-Main event. At the start
of the feature it was Josh McGuire but
quickly chasing him down from his 6th
starting position was Richmond,
Indiana’s Steve Casebolt. The Dixie
Chopper sponsored machine took 8
laps to dispense of the field and set
sail for his first feature win at Moler
Raceway Park and taking home $2500
as winner of the 2nd Annual Freedom
Fighter‘s 40 event. It was Wayne Chinn
coming home second with McGuire,
Arnie Fields and Steve Barnett coming
home in the top five.

In the Cheapbowlingballs.com modified
division it was 30 laps of racing action
with West Portsmouth, Ohio’s Doug
Adkins claiming his second feature win
of the season at MRP. Walton,
Kentucky’s Shawn Tolson put on a
great show battling on the outside to
come home second with Matt Hamilton,
Dave McWilliams, and Ray Branscum
rounding out the top five. In heat race
action it was Adkins and Hamilton with
the victories.

The Holman Motors Chevette division
brought another strong field of cars
(27 total) to MRP.  In heat race action
it was Chris Vance, Branden Elam, and
Jeff Watson taking the wins while Eric
Dearing was the winner in the B-Main
event. In the feature it was Watson and
Elam running side-by-side for the first
ten laps before Elam was able to take
control of the top spot with Watson
dropping back to second with Miles
Tarvin right behind them in 3rd spot.
After a lap 16 caution for a Kelly
Hedrick spin Elam was able to get a
good restart and pull a couple of car
lengths ahead which secured the win
for the Holman Motors GMC, South
Carolina Gamecocks designed
machine. Watson came home second
with Tarvin, Mitchell Fields ,and Rusty
Yarger coming home in the top five.

Next week we’ll return with all regular
classes, plus powder puff races added
to the schedule.  Thanks to everyone
for a great night of racing and we’ll see
you next week!!
“THE BOSS BARRY DOSS” TAKES
THE CHECKERED AT MRP
6-5-09!!

Another beautiful night for racing at
Moler Raceway Park on Friday night
as the week long rains moved out and
a clear sky and full moon moved in. In
the Sunesis Construction Late Models
it was a 25 car field on hand with heat
race wins going to Tim Prince, Bill
Blair, Jr, and Tom Sheets. The B-main
victory went to Arnie Fields. In the
feature it was a great racing
throughout the field but Prince, Jeff
Alsip , and Bill Blair, Jr were the top
three. Following a caution on lap 16 it
was Barry Doss on the move from his
11th starting position. After a couple of
minor cautions the stage was set for a
five-lap shoot-out between Prince,
Doss, and Alsip. Going three wide on
the restart for nearly a full lap Barry
Doss was able to take the top spot on
lap 13 with Alsip in close pursuit. At the
checkers it was Barry Doss claiming
his first win of 2009 with Alsip, Blair,
Prince, and John Sizemore rounding
out the top five positions. In claiming
the victory Doss took his Howser’s
Discount and Garage, Gabbards Ford,
Doss Contracting car to victory lane for
the first time in 2009.

In the Cheapbowlingballs.com
Modifieds it looked like a familiar start
to the A-main with Doug Adkins leading
Dave McWilliams and Shawn Tolson
for the first 8 laps. At that point after a
couple of cautions on attempted
restarts Adkins had a left rear tire go
flat and eventually explode handing
the race lead to Tolson. Try as he
might for the final ten laps McWilliams
was unable to make the pass and
Shawn Tolson came home with his first
win of 2009. The Walton,Ky driver with
help of Bennett Excavating, Allstar
Automotive, CL Wilson Trucking, and
Valvoline Oil took his Tomahawk
Racecar to victory lane for celebration.
Following Tolson was McWilliams,
Randy King, Rick Curtin, and Shane
Mugavin (started 13th). Winning heat
races were Adkins, McWilliams, and
Greg Anderson with Michael Poe
victorious in the B-main event.

In the Holman Motors Chevette class
there was extra money on the line
courtesy of Holman Motors for the top
three non-Holman Motors cars. At the
start there was a five car pile-up in turn
two that took out the cars of Jim Hunt
and Luke Holman and caused Miles
Tarvin to go pit-side to replace a flat
tire. On the restart it was all Mitchell
Fields as he led all 15 laps to take
home his first feature victory at MRP.
Chris Vance came home 2nd, with Jeff
Watson, Miles Tarvin, and Kevin Riggs
rounding out the top five. Heat races
victories went to Tarvin, Fields, and
Vance.

The US Race Gear sSreet Stocks
made their return to MRP after a week
off but the lay-off didn’t seem to
change the results. Jeremie Bretz
picked up right were he’s been all
season in victory lane. BY winning his
4th feature in 4 tries Bretz in his Get-R-
Done Graphics, H & H continuous
plumbing machine set himself up as
the man to beat this season. Following
Bretz home was John Baker, Mark
Kaetzel, Ansel Walker, and Kevin
Tuggle in the top five. There was an
accident on lap 8 as Sam Allen flipped
off of turn four but he was uninjured.
Winning heat races were John Baker
and Bretz.

Following the normal racing action
there were three ladies entered in the
powder puff action with Debbie Watson
taking the runaway victory in her 9w
Chevette. It was Debbie’s 3rd powder
puff victory in the last year.
Congratulations to her and everyone
here at MRP and we’ll see you next
week for the Mechanics Races along
with our regular classes.  Remember,
June 19th for the UMP American Late
Model Series, Late Models $2000 to
Win, plus all regular classes.  C-103
Live Remote!!
6-19-09 - Williamsburg, OH -Great
racing action on a hot summer night at
Moler Raceway Park began with the
Sunoco American Late Model Series
coming to town with 34 late models on
hand. Winning heat races were Brian
Ruhlman, Jesse Lay, and Tim Prince.
In the B-main event there were 19
cars taking the green battling for the
final 5 starting spots with 2nd Place
ALMS points runner KY Harper taking
the win followed by 14th starting Jason
Jamison, a heavy smoking Jason
Montgomery, Larry Pickelheier Jr, and
Bill Williams. In the feature it was
Ruhlman and Lay on the front row but
at the green the guy on the move was
Jon Henry who jumped from 7th to 3rd
on the first lap. Ruhlman led the first
three laps but Jerry Bowersock
showed that he was going to be the
man to beat. Bowersock and his St
Henry Nite Club sponsored MGD 64
machine led the final 37 laps en route
to his first feature win at MRP. The
race was slowed with four minor
cautions the last causing a green-
white-checker finish but no one had
anything for Bowersock. Coming home
second was last year’s UMP point
champion Rusty Schlenk followed by
Hazard, Ky’s Eric Wells, Ruhlman, and
Shawn Negangard.

In the Cheapbowlingballs.com
modified division it was Brian Ruhlman
and Doug Adkins winning heat races
and setting the front row of the A-Main
event. At the green flag a rollover by
Randy King brought the action to a
stop but he was OK. On the restart it
was Brian Ruhlman out front and
Dave McWilliams running second. The
race stayed that way throughout with
the green flag staying out until lap 18
when Andy Bowman  spun out in turn
two. On the restart it was all Ruhlman
as he took home his first feature win
at MRP in fine fashion. McWilliams
hung on for second with Rick Curtain,
Shane Mugavin, and a hard charging
Ray Branscum rounding out the top
five.

The question in the US Race Gear
Street Stocks was whether or not
someone would beat Jeremie Bretz for
the first time this season. After
drawing a low pill number and starting
on the tail of his heat it looked like he
was going to have his hands full.
Winning the heat was John Baker. At
the green it was Baker and newcomer
Shane Pendleton running side by side
but one slip allowed Bretz to get by
Pendleton on lap four and then Baker
on lap eight. It was smooth sailing
from there as Bretz took home the
checker and remained undefeated in
Street stock action. Baker came home
second with Pendleton, Tuggle and
Paul Baker rounding out the top five.

Another full field of Holman Motor
Chevettes were on hand and to start
things off Jeff Watson, Chris Vance,
and Kevin Riggs took home heat race
victories setting the line-up for the
feature. With Holman Motors once
again adding $300,$200, and $100 to
the posted purse it was destined to be
another dogfight for the victory. At the
green it was Jeff Watson jumping to
the lead with Vance in tow. A lap four
restart  saw Vance jump Watson only
to be penalized two spots on the next
caution. Vance was able to regain the
second spot before having problems
later in the race. Watson was able to
hold on the entire race and take home
his second victory of the season and
the additional $300. Coming home
second after restarting on the tail on a
lap 3 caution was Mitchell Fields.
Finishing third was Josh Francis, with
Eric Weaver, and Alanah Weis coming
home in the top five positions.   See
you all 6-26 for a regular show for all
classes plus Mechanics Races here at
MRP!! And don’t forget SATURDAY,
July 4th, Holman Motors Night at MRP,
Chevette Special, $1500 to Win
(Chevettes must have raced here at
least three times prior), plus all
regular classes and Fireworks
sponsored by Phantom Fireworks,
Amelia, Ohio.
WHITNEY WINS LATE MODEL
FEATURE AT MRP!!

6-26-09- Williamsburg, OH - Another
Friday night of exciting racing action
was on tap at Moler Raceway Park with
5 classes of cars on hand. With  18
late models on hand the racing was
exciting as Tim Sizemore won his first
ever heat race and earning an outside
pole starting position for the feature.
Starting on the inside pole position with
his heat race win was John Whitney in
his Barker Fab & Machine, Corry
Robbins, Sauls Construction special.
At the drop of the green flag it was
Whitney in the lead with Sizemore
second. By lap seven the guys to
watch were Bill Williams and Barry
Doss who both started in row number 8
(15th & 16th positions) and were
marching to the front. Meanwhile John
Sizemore had gotten past Tim
Sizemore into second. On lap 16 a
scary incident occurred as Tim
Sizemore suddenly slowed and
stopped on the race track directly in
front of the rest of the field. Mike Myers
and Tim Carpenter were unable to
avoid him and heavy contact was
made. Although all the drivers were
Okay there was a slight delay in
getting the spilled fuel burned off the
track. On the restart it was all Whitney
as he powered his Amaze-a-Stitch
Embroidery Machine home to his
second win of the season. Bill Williams
came home second with Larry
Pickelheimer Jr, Dillon Huron, and Dan
Hurt rounding out the top five.

In the cheapbowlingball.com modifieds
there were 25 cars on hand with Joe
Brewer, Brad Weick, and Doug Adkins
taking home heat race wins with Randy
Wash claiming the B-main event. In the
A-main it was Weick jumping out to the
lead spot with Adkins and Dave
McWilliams in tow. Adkins took
advantage of lap traffic on lap 12 to
take the lead but Weick and
McWilliams were both still on his
bumper. At the checkers it was Adkins
claiming another UMP Modified event
with Weick, McWilliams, Michael Poe,
and Rick Jones rounding out the top
five.

In the Holman Motor Chevette class it
was the final tune-up for the 4th of July
$1500 Special and there were 26 cars
on hand all in anticipation of the $1500
payday that will come on the fourth. In
heat race action it was Jeff Watson,
Trevor Moffett, and Alanah Weis
claiming victories with Eric Weaver
taking the B-Main event. In the feature
it was all Jeff Watson as he set himself
up as the man to beat in the Chevette
class by claiming his third victory of the
season. Eric Yarger came home
second with Eric Weaver, Miles Tarvin,
and Josh Francis (after starting last in
a borrowed car) rounding out the top
five. There was an accident on lap
eleven as contact between the third
and fourth place running cars of
Trevor Moffett and Mitchell Fields sent
Fields tumbling down the front stretch.
He was unhurt.

In the US Race Gear Street Stocks it
was more of the same as Maysville,
Kentucky’s Jeremie Bretz took home
the top honors to remain undefeated in
feature action this season at Moler
Raceway Park.  Coming home second
was John Baker with heat race #2
winner Shane Pendleton third, Mark
Kaetzel came home fourth with Paul
Baker in fifth spot.

In other racing action it was the
Midwest Mini-Sprint Association making
their first visit of the season and it was
Bloomington, Indiana’s Kerry Kinser
taking home the winning prize after a
spirited battle with Lynn Ambrose of
Owensboro, KY. Seth Motsinger was
third with Beau Stewart and Scott
Bradley rounding out the top five.

SATURDAY, JULY 4TH, will be Holman
Motors Night at MRP with all four
classes and the Holman Motors
Chevette class being the featured
event as they go for an unprecedented
$1500 to win purse sponsored by
Holman Motors, in a 40 lap shootout,
along with a pre-race concert featuring
Tumbing Dice, a Rolling Stones
Tribute Band from 4:30 to 6:30.  There
will also be a Fireworks show courtesy
of the folks at Phantom Fireworks.  For
more information go to www.

SHEPPARD WINS OUTLAW SPRINT
NIGHT AT MRP!!

7-10-09 - Williamsburg, OH - On a
night designed to honor the late
William Hesson, an Ohio Department
of Youth Corrections Officer who was
killed in late April, everyone came
through by donating $1300 to help his
family and were given in return a great
night of  racing action along with an
awesome fireworks show provided by
Phantom Fireworks.  With the Engine
Pro/NRA Sprint Invader 360 Sprint
Cars making their first ever
appearance at Moler Raceway Park, it
was a fast and furious night. Two heat
races would set the starting order and
defending NRA champion JR Stewart
and Warsaw, Indiana’s Neil Sheppard
took heat race wins and at the
inversion draw pulled a straight up
starting line-up meaning they would be
the front row cars that would bring the
15 car field to the green flag. At the
drop of the green it was Stewart with
the lead but Sheppard was right
beside him on the bottom. By Lap 7 it
was Sheppard taking the lead and
control of the event. Although there
was tight racing throughout the race
they ran all 30 laps without a caution
with Sheppard taking his first ever A-
main event in a Sprint Car. Stewart
came home second followed by Ron
Blair, Luke Hall, and Tim Hunter
rounding out the top five.

July 10th was also DARF Night at MRP
and Dayton Auto Racing Fan Club
members got in free for a great night
of racing.  Everyone at Moler Raceway
Park would like to thank DARF for
helping out one of their own in his time
of  need.  Bill Glass, a member of  MRP’
s great safety crew was seriously
injured in a motorcycle accident which
put him in the hospital in critical
condition and unfortunately resulted in
the death of his granddaughter,
Makala Little, Age 11.  DARF has an
injured drivers fund to help racers and
everyone associated with our great
sport and they very generously
donated to the family of Bill Glass to
help them in their time of need.  Our
thanks goes out to DARF and our
thoughts and prayers are with him and
his entire family.  Donations may be
given at any Fifth Third Bank in Makala’
s name.

In the Sunesis Construction late
models there were 29 cars on hand
and it would take 3 heats and a B-main
to set the field. Jason Montgomery
started last but won heat race number
one with Dillan White, a rookie in the
late model division taking the win in
heat two and Larry Pickelheimer Jr
winning heat number. Chris Shannon
was victorious in the B-Main event. At
the start of the feature event it was
Pickelheimer jumping out to the lead
with White in second and Montgomery
in third. By Lap 6 is was Montgomery
the leader with Pickelheimer back to
second but the race to watch was 11th
starting Barry Doss working his way
through the pack. The race looked like
it was going to go caution free until lap
21 when Arnie Fields made contact
with Chad Stapleton and spun to the
infield. That bunched the field up as
Barry Doss was up to third spot and
John Whitney in fourth for the restart.
At the green it was Jason Montgomery
coming home with the feature win, with
Barry Doss making  a run of it but
coming up short to finish in second
spot. Pickelheimer came home third
with John Whitney in fourth and Bill
Williams just nipping Dillan White to
take home the fifth spot.

In the final tune-up before the July
17th Battle of the Bluegrass modified
event there were some newcomers
showing up hoping to take home some
extra money and the all important UMP
points. In heat race action two of the
three races were won by newcomers
as Todd Sherman (heat #1) and Jeff
Babcock (heat #3) took wins with Rick
Curtain winning heat race number #2.
In B-main action it was Steve Duty
taking the win in his first visit to MRP.
In the feature it was Curtain leading lap
number 1 but a spin in turn #2 caused
Curtain to restart from the tail of the
field (he would eventually charge to
8th spot). From there on it was Jeff
Babcock  in his US Muffler & Brake,
Craig Miller Trucking sponsored
machine taking his first win at MRP with
Dave McWilliams right on his bumper
throughout the entire event. Doug
Adkins came home third with Todd
Sherman, and Jeremie Bretz rounding
out the top five.

In the Holman Motors Chevette division
it was another full field of cars as 30
drivers signed in to take part in the
weeks racing action. In heat race
action it was Kevin Riggs winning heat
race #1 with first time winners Jason
Hoskins and Les Romano winning
heats #2 & #3. In the B-main event it
was Josh Francis taking the win. As the
feature event lined up the action
began as Francis broke an axle and
lost a wheel while the cars rolled
around under caution. As the green
flag flew it was two and three wide
racing throughout the field. Up front it
was Troy Stamper taking the lead on
lap three and he would never give it
up. Jeff Watson eventually made a
charge and eventually got up next to
Stamper on the white flag lap but to no
avail as Stamper would hold on to take
his first win of the season in his first
visit to MRP this year. With Watson
taking second,  in third was Paul Luers
with Miles Tarvin and Derrick Davis
(just inching out Eric Weaver) rounding
out the top five.

In the US Race Gear street stocks it
was much the same story as previous
weeks as Jeremie Bretz would be the
man to beat. Starting outside row
number one (courtesy of heat race #2
victory) the Maysville, Kentucky racer
would jump to the lead and never look
back as he remained undefeated on
the season.  Coming home second
would be Craig Naylor, who earlier won
his first ever street stock heat race,
with Paul Baker third followed by
birthday boy Mark Kaetzel (who started
on the tail) and Todd Anstaett
rounding out the top five.  July is
power-packed at MRP with the 17th
being the Battle of the Bluegrass
Modifieds $1500 to Win, the 24th
being Topless Night, Late Models
$1500 to Win, and the Street Stock
Special on the 31st paying $600 to
Win.
   “THE BOSS” BARRY DOSS HOLDS
OFF WAYNE CHINN FOR LATE
MODEL WIN!!

7-24-09 - Williamsburg, OH - Moler
Raceway Park fans were treated to an
interesting night of racing this past
Friday. With a large car count on hand
it was Topless night as the Late
Models and Modifieds each took the
roofs off of their cars for a fun night of
racing action.  In the Sunesis
Construction Late Model division there
were 27 cars on hand with Daryl
Herbert, Wayne Chinn, and Barry Doss
winning heat races and John Whitney
winning the B-main event.  In the
feature event it was like a full-moon as
there were many cautions throughout
the event slowing the pace. It all
started on lap one as 9 cars spun and
stopped in turn four. On the restart it
was Wayne Chinn looking like he might
win his third feature of the season at
Moler but on lap 14 it was Barry Doss
passing the Sniper and never looking
back as he took his second feature win
of the season in the Mt Orab Ford,
Howser Discount and Garage
sponsored machine. Chinn came home
second with Whitney, Arnie Fields, and
John Sizemore rounding out the top
five.

In the Cheap Bowling Balls UMP
Modifieds it was much the same as
following the heat race action the
feature event was plagued with
multiple cautions slowing the event.
Heat races were won by Shawn Tolson
Shaun Scott, and Dave Mc Williams. In
the feature event it was McWilliams on
the pole with Shaun Scott on the
outside. After the initial start went
yellow there was contact between Scott
and McWilliams and on the restart
Scott was put to the tail of the field for
the restart. On the green it was
McWilliams and Poe leading the field
with Shawn Tolson in tow.  McWilliams
had his hands full with Tolson but was
able to lead all twenty laps to take his
first victory at MRP this season. Tolson
came home second with Randy Wash,
Jeremie Bretz, and Shaun Scott
rounding out the top five as Doug
Adkins and  Michael Poe spun coming
for the checkered flag.

The Holman Motors Chevettes once
again had a large field of cars as 31
cars were on hand. In heat race action
it was Jeff Watson, Josh Francis, and
Miles Tarvin winning the heats with
Paul Luers taking the B-main win. In
the feature it was all Jeff Watson as he
led all 15 laps to take his fourth feature
event of the season. Tarvin came
home second with Rusty Yarger, Josh
Francis, and Derrick Davis coming
home in the top five positions.

In the US Race Gear Street Stocks the
story was whether or not anyone could
beat Jeremie Bretz who has been
undefeated in feature action this
season it looked like Mark Kaetzel was
up to the challenge as he passed and
beat Bretz in heat race number two
while Jamey Adams made his first visit
successful by winning heat one. In the
feature things would start a little crazy
as Kaetzel got sideways and cars
behind him scattered. Bretz, Shane
Pendleton, and Bill Crabtree were all
victims and sent pitside for repairs.
Bretz was unable to make the repairs
before the green flew which assured a
first time winner in street stock action.
As the green flew it was Jamey Adams
and John Baker up front and they
would stay that way throughout the last
fifteen laps. At the checker it was
Adams crossing the line first..  But
following tech inspection it was
determined that he had an illegal
carburetor which meant that John
Baker was declared the winner.
Coming home second was Paul Baker
with Craig Naylor, Kevin Tuggle, and
Jeff Sparks rounding out the top five.

HOLMAN MOTORS NIGHT AT MRP
CHEVETTES TAKE CENTER STAGE!!

8-7-09 Wiliamsburg, OH -Moler
Raceway Park

The Holman Motors Chevette Special
originally scheduled for July 4th was
finally able to take to the race track at
Moler Raceway Park. for $1500 to win,
$1000 for 2nd, $500 for 3rd!!  There
were 31 cars on hand trying to take
home the prize money put up by the
folks at Holman Motors, Eastgate, OH.
In a twist the Chevette Division
qualified for the first time ever!!  And it
was Sardinia, Ohio’s Blake Naylor
setting the pace with a lap-time of
15.879. With the exception of the top
six qualifiers who locked into the
feature event it was on to the heat
races to race their way into the feature
event.  Winning heat races were Eric
Weaver, Les Romano, and Eric Vance
while Jason Hoskins claimed the B-
main event. In the fast car dash to set
the first three rows it was Branden
Elam returning to the track and taking
over the Alanah Weis #2 machine and
the win from his fourth staring spot. In
feature action it was set-up as two
separate twenty-lap events with a ten-
minute pit stop in the middle.  At the
green flag it was Miles Tarvin jumping
to the lead from his outside row one
starting position.  The racing action
throughout the pack was intense with
two and three-wide racing throughout
the field. After a lap 12 restart it was
Jeff Watson who would take the top
spot and he would cruise into the
halfway break as the leader. Following
Watson at the break it was Tarvin, B.
Naylor and Branden Elam in the top
four spots. At the start of the second
half it was Watson out front with
Tarvin, Elam, and B. Naylor battling
furiously for the second position. A
spin on lap 37 set the stage for a 3 lap
shootout and it looked like Watson was
going to go unchallenged for the win.
But coming for the white flag Tarvin
made contact and the top two cars
both slid into turn one with Tarvin able
to regain control and take the lead
down the backstretch. The proud new
father was able to hold on and take his
second win of the season in his Brown
County Pork Producers, P& G farms,
Positive Therapy Services, Elliot
Excavating machine. The furious battle
behind them allowed Eric Weaver to
take over second position and the
$1000 that went along with it. Watson
settled for the $500 3rd place win while
Elam and B.Naylor came home in 4th
and 5th spots.  What an awesome race
it was for our Chevette class!!

In the Sunesis Construction Late
Models it was the smallest field of the
season with only 15 cars on-hand. But
a great show was put on that left the
final results in doubt until the
checkered flag was  thrown!! At the
start it was Josh Tidwell seemingly in
control with Dan Hurt battling his way
past Arnie Fields into second position.
Tidwell seemed to be running away
with the win, but a caution on lap
seven reset the stage with a restart
and Dan Hurt drove hard into turn one
to challenge for the top spot and
Tidwell slid up the race track losing 4
spots. Hurt would lead the next couple
of laps until Barry Doss took the top
spot and he looked like he would
runaway for the win but Larry
Pickelheimer Jr came charging through
the field from his 7th starting spot to
trade the lead with Doss as they ran
side-by-side for about 8 laps. It looked
as though Pickelheimer was going to
take control on lap 18 but Doss
stormed back to take the lead and win
in his Howser’s Discount & Garage, Mt
Orab Ford, D& G Trucking sponsored
machine. Charging from ninth to
second with 2 laps to go was Lil’ John
Whitney with Pickelheimer coming
home third followed by Dan Hurt and
Arnie Fields. Heat race wins went to
Fields and Tidwell.

In the Cheapbowlingball.com Modifieds
it was Dave McWilliams leading the
twenty-car field to the green and he
was looking to make it two in a row at
Moler. At the Green it was McWilliams
the leader with Jeremie Bretz running a
strong second but all eyes were on
Doug Adkins as he was working the
high side of the race track. Adkins
slipped too high and caught the
outside wall on lap eleven but a
caution came out and was able to
restart in second position and set his
sights on the leader. Adkins kept
inching closer to the outside of
McWilliams but was unable to get up
beside McWilliams until the white flag
lap when it looked as if he could take
the lead going into turn three but a
lapped car allowed McWilliams to
maintain his lead and take his second
consecutive feature in his Bob Pierce
Racecars, Valvoline sponsored
machine. Adkins came home second
followed by Bretz, Rick Curtain, and
Randy Wash. Winning heat races were
McWilliams and Bretz.

In the US Race Gear Street Stock
division it was once again Jeremie
Bretz winning heat race one and
starting on the pole as he looked for
his 8th win in 9 tries this season. At the
green Bretz was able to beat heat #2
winner Mark Kaetzel into turn number
one for the lead. Kaetzel was working
the outside and looked as if he had
something for Bretz but contact on lap
10 would force Kaetzel to restart from
the tail of the field. On the restart it
then looked as if John Baker might
have something for Bretz but to no
avail as Jeremie Bretz took home
feature number 8 of the season in his
H&H Continuous Guttering, Git-R-Done
Graphics, Reis Garage sponsored
machine.  John Baker would come
home second with Paul Baker, Bill
Crabtree, and Jeff Sparks rounding out
the top five.  What a great night of
racing!!  Join us 8-14-09 for the

8-14-09 NASRA Makes Debut at Moler
Raceway Park

Williamsburg, OH -The 3rd Annual
Victor “Ike” Moler Memorial Event had
a new twist as CJ Rayburn’s new
sanctioning body known as NASRA
made it’s debut. Designed to equate
the open motor dirt late models and
the crate motor machines as well as
the new generation 525 all aluminum
engines through weight breaks and
harder compound tires the series was
making it‘s inaugural event. Add that to
the $3,000 to win purse and the 8-foot
tall Southern Trophy there was much
on the line in the 50 lap event. With 39
cars checked in things got underway
with 1 lap of qualifications. Setting fast
time in his first visit to MRP was the
“Rattler” Justin Ratliff at a lap of
14.007. The top six qualifiers were
locked in and set the stage for the fast
car dash which allowed sixth fast
qualifier Audie McWilliams taking the
win and earning the pole position for
the feature event. In heat race action it
was the top three in each heat earning
their way into the A-main. Taking the
heat wins were Aaron Ridley, Steve
Barnett, Chad Stapleton, and John
Whitney Jr. The 21 car B-main event
would decide two more starters with
Lexington, Ky’s Bobby Walter’s winning
with Robby Hensley take the final
transfer with a last lap pass. In the
feature event it was Audie McWilliams
and Scott James on the front row and
at the drop of the green flag it was
Scott James out front but the man on
the move was 4th starting Mike Marler
and 14th starting Wayne Chinn. By lap
21 it was Marler taking the top spot
with and setting a torrid pace. The first
caution came out on lap 41 but on the
restart Marler driving one of the 525 all
aluminum engines taking off from the
field and leading the final 9 laps to
take the $3,000 and the 8 ft. famed
Southern Trophy. At the finish it was
Mike Marler from Winfield, Tn. Taking
the win with Scott James, Greg
Johnson, Justin Ratliff, and Wayne
Chinn rounding out the top five.

In the Cheapbowlingballs.com
Modifieds it was Dave McWilliams
looking for win number three in a row
as the night started and following his
heat #1 win it looked like he was going
to be hard to beat. Winning heat #2
was newcomer David Spille with Doug
Adkins taking the third heat race win.
In the feature it was Spille and
McWilliams up front but numerous
cautions for spins slowed the early
going but once things got underway it
was McWilliams in his Bob Pierce Race
Cars, Valvoline sponsored machine
taking the win. Following McWilliams
was Spille, Adkins, Randy Wash, and
Rick Curtain rounding out the top five.

In the US Race Gear Street Stocks it
was Jamey Adams and Jeremie Bretz
winning heat races setting the stage
for the 15 lap feature event.  At the
green flag it was Adams in the lead
with Bretz right on his tail throughout
the entire feature. Coming for the
checker flag Bretz spun around off of
turn four allowing Adams to easily take
the win. John Baker came home
second with Bretz driving backwards to
cross the line in third spot with Mark
Kaetzel and Bill Crabtree rounding out
the top five.

In the Holman Motors Chevettes it was
Eric Weaver, Branden Elam, and Miles
Tarvin taking heat race wins with
Derick Davis winning the B-main. In the
feature it was Elam and Tarvin on the
front row with Tarvin taking the top
spot and leading all 15 laps to take his
second consecutive feature event and
third on the season. Jeff Watson
started 11th but came home second
with Josh Francis edging out Elam for
third spot and  Alanah Weis coming
home in fifth position.  August 21st is a
regular show at MRP plus the 1200cc
Winged Mini Sprints, with DARF
members getting in Free.  Don’t forget
August 28th, Fan Appreciation Night,

Another night of exciting racing at
Moler Raceway Park!!
8-21-09 - Williamsburg, OH - Another
great night of racing action at Moler
Raceway Park incluuded the regular
divisions of racing plus the return of
the AMSA 1200 CC Mini-Sprints.  In
Late Model action it was Marty Huntley,
Robby Hensley, and Jason Jamison
taking heat race wins. After the redraw
it was Huntley and Hensley on the front
row for the 25 lap Sunesis
Construction feature event (22 cars).
At the drop of the green it was Barry
Doss jumping to the top spot from his
3rd starting spot but the battle was
behind him as Larry Pickelheimer Jr.,
rocketed out to the top spot on lap 10
with Jason Jamison riding the high side
coming with him. By lap 13 it was
Jamison taking over the lead and
setting sail out front. Pickelheimer
would get involved in a lap 20 tangle
with a lapped car that would end his
night. At the finish it was
Lawrenceburg, Indiana’s Jason
Jamison taking the win with Barry Doss
coming home in second position and
Arnie Fields in third spot. John
Sizemore charged from 12th starting
position to come home fourth as he
nipped Wayne Chinn fifth, at the finish
line.

In the Cheapbowlingballs Modifieds it
was Dave McWilliams looking to win his
fourth consecutive feature in a row but
his night would not be an easy one. In
heat race action it was Doug Adkins,
Michael Poe, and Joe Brewer winning
heat races. In the feature it was Brewer
and Poe bringing the cars to the green
flag but Adkins would take the three-
wide in turn two on lap one to dart out
to the top spot. There was great racing
throughout the pack as McWilliams
charged to the front from his fifth
starting position to challenge Adkins
for the lead. Just behind them the
racing was intense as Brewer and
eleventh starting Ray Branscum would
wage a great battle. While trading the
top spot a couple of times McWilliams
was not able to take the lead until lap
16 of the 20-lap event. Adkins would
try again on the last lap to no avail as
he slipped to fourth at the finish.
Winning his 4th feature of the season
was McWilliams with Branscum taking
home second followed by Brewer,
Adkins, and Doug Popp in the top five
positions.

In the Holman Motors Chevette division
it was Derrick Davis, Jeff Watson, and
Branden Elam winning heat races with
Scott Ramp taking the B-main event. In
the feature it was all Branden Elam as
he led all fifteen laps in taking his third
win of the season in his Eastside
Industrial Truck Service, Weiss Racing
Engines sponsored machine. Coming
home second was Luke Holman with
Derrick Davis, Miles Tarvin, and Paul
Luers rounding out the top five.

The US Race Gear Street Stocks
would take to the race track with their
two heat races and it was Mark Kaetzel
and Craig Naylor winning heats to set
the line-up for the feature.  Kaetzel
was not to be denied his first win at
MRP as he led all 15 laps despite
heavy pressure from Jon Baker
throughout the race. In the end it was
Kaetzel in his B&M Wrecker, Cropper
Racing Engines, Morris Mowing and
lawn care sponsored machine taking
the win. Jon Baker came home second
with Craig Naylor, Jeremie Bretz, and
Paul Baker rounding out the top five.

Also on tap at MRP was the AMSA
1200 cc mini-sprints. They started the
evening with a make-up feature from
back in April and it was Sam Ashworth
taking home the 15-lap make-up
event. In the nights regular scheduled
event it was Middletown Ohio’s Rod
Henning jumping to the lead on the
first lap from his fifth starting position
and leading all twenty laps en route to
the A-main win. Drew Pollack held on
for second with Sam Ashworth and
Beau Stewart trading the third
positions back and forth throughout
the event. Coming home fifth was Ryan
Broughton.

9-4-09 Full Moon Dominates MRP

Williamsburg, OH - Labor Day
weekend started with a bang at MRP
as 126 cars packed the pit area. In the
Sunesis Construction Late Models
there were 28 cars signed in and
qualifying heats were first on the race
track. Winning heats were Jesse Lay,
Josh Tidwell, Jason Montgomery, and
Arnie Fields. In the B-main it was the
L& M Performance machine of Larry
Pickelheimer Jr. Taking the win. The b-
main has some excitement as Brian
Gray  took a nasty rollover on lap 3 to
begin the event. Gray was unhurt in
the accident. In the feature event it
was Jesse Lay up front at the onset
but numerous cautions slowed the
event. A lap 18 caution sent 6 of the
top ten cars to the tail after a tangle in
turn four. Lay continued to lead with
Barry Doss running second but Lay’s
night would end a few laps later with
mechanical problems. The complexion
of the race changed as Barry Doss
assumed the lead but all eyes were on
the number twelve of Jason Jamison.
Running in seventh position on lap 20
Jamison would fly past Doss on the
outside to take the win with a last lap
pass on turn four. Doss came home
second with John Sizemore,
Pickelheimer, and Joey Dunseith
rounding out the top five.

In the UMP Modifieds there were 40
cars in attendance with many heavy
hitters taking to the ¼ mile speed
plant. In heat race action it was Matt
Hamilton, Doug Adkins, Jeff Babcock,
and Kent Robinson taking apparent
heat race wins. In post race
inspections the #52 machine of
Babcock was DQ’ed for no mufflers
while the #18 machine of Dave
McWilliams was DQ’ed for improper
shocks. In the B-main event the full
moon would once again show itself as
a never-ending stream of cautions
plagued the 19 car event. Shawn
Tolson would take the victory in a time-
shortened event. In the feature the
very first lap left Shawn Tolson upside
down after he rolled his car on the
back stretch.  Tolson was unhurt.  As
he action continued it looked like Matt
Hamilton was going to be the man to
beat but another constant stream of
cautions slowed the event. Following
about the fourth caution on lap three
Hamilton’s night would end with an
apparent loss of power. Doug Adkins
and Kent Robinson would spend the
next 15 laps trading the lead back and
fourth while Devin Gilpin hovered in
the third position. On lap 18 the race
changed as Doug Adkins got into the
back of the Robinson machine causing
him to spin. Luckily for Robinson no
damage was done and on the ensuing
restart he was put back out front with
Doug Adkins being sent to the tail of
the field. At the checker it was
Robinson out front with Gilpin, Shaun
Scott, Dan Dehner, and Randy Wash
rounding out the top five.

The Holman Motors Chevette class
produced 24 entries with Jeff Watson,
Miles Tarvin, and Luke Holman
winning heat races. In the feature
Luke Holman would bring the field to
the green flag but a quick caution
would line them back up but Holman
was unable to continue having some
transmission troubles. On the restart it
was Jeff Watson taking the lead and
leading all 15 laps en route to his six
feature win of the season. Derrick
Davis would inch by Tarvin at the
checkered flag to take home second
while Paul Luers and Josh Francis (
from 19th starting spot) would round
out the top five.

In the US Race Gear Street Stocks it
was once again Jeremie Bretz taking
control of the division as Bretz would
win his heat and take home the 15 lap
feature event to claim win number 9 on
the season.  Brett Carey would claim
second spot (and a heat race win) in
his first visit to MRP while Mark
Kaetzel, Craig Naylor, and Chad Barr
rounded out the top five.

The MMSA 1000cc mini-sprints were
also in action and Milford, NY’s Don
Harvey would top the 16 car field at
the end of the night. Harvey had a
spirited battle with Lynn Ambrose but
Harvey would take the top spot for
good with 2 laps remaining. Ambrose
would hold on for second with Alex
Shipman coming home in third spot.

Also on tap was a Holman Motor Shoot-
out made up of last year’s track
champion in Chevettes. At the end of
the shootout it was Barry Doss driving
to victory over Derrick Davis with Doug
Adkins in third and Miles Tarvin in
fourth.  9-11-09 will be a regular show
plus kids races on the foot stretch.  9-
18 L&M Performance Season
Championship, Late Models $1500.  9-
25 3rd Annual Fallfest, Specials all
classes.
9-11-09 - MRP has another fine night
of racing action

Williamsburg, OH - Another fine night
of racing action at Moler Raceway Park
started off with a tribute to all the
heroes of  9-11 and to those who lost
their lives or loved ones on 9-11-01.
The racing action started off with the
Cheap Bowling Balls modified division
being run first.  And with 24 cars on
hand it was Dave McWilliams, Doug
Adkins, and Joe Godsey taking heat
race wins to set the stage for 20 lap
feature event. In B-main action it was
Doug Popp taking the win. In the
feature it was the top two point guys of
McWilliams and Adkins leading the
field to green and putting on a great
race throughout with McWilliams
leading and Adkins trying the outside
almost every lap. At the end though it
was McWilliams claiming his fifth
feature win of the season with Joe
Godsey getting by Adkins to claim
second place. Steve Duty came home
fourth with Randy Wash rounding out
the top five finishers.

In the Sunesis Construction Late
Models 24 cars signed in on the night
with heat race wins going to John
Whitney, Greg Johnson, and Barry
Doss. Larry Pickelheimer Jr ran down
and passed 13 year old Ethan Burgess
to win the B-main event.  In the feature
event it was Greg Johnson and Barry
Doss bringing the field to the green
flag with Jason Jamison and Whitney in
row two.  At the green flag it was Greg
Johnson in the Gary Engle number 15
taking the top spot with John Whitney
and Jason Jamison jumping to second
and third positions by lap 3. While
Johnson continued to lead the battle
was between Whitney and Jamison for
the second position. With two laps to
go it was Jamison getting by Whitney
for second but it was not enough to
catch Mitchell, Indiana’s Greg Johnson
in his Bimps Concrete, Quality
Electrostatic Painting, Dirt Bodies R Us
Masterbuilt race car.

The Holman Motor Chevettes would
once again bring a full field of cars to
the race track as 24 Chevettes signed
in. In heat race action it was Eric
Weaver, Miles Tarvin, and Josh
Francis taking heat wins. At the start of
the feature Francis would make
contact with Weaver and be forced to
restart the race at the tail of the field.
Despite numerous cautions it would be
Weaver taking his first ever feature
victory while contact between Tarvin
and Les Romano midway through the
final lap would scramble the field as
the race ended. Francis would drive
through the field to claim second
position while Trevor Moffett would
hold on for third with  Kevin Riggs and
John Mallott rounding out the top five.
Curt Daniels would claim the Holman
Motors Hard Charger award and $50
gas card provided by Holman Motors
for advancing 14 positions in the
feature event.

In the US Race Gear Street Stocks it
was much the same as the end of the
night would have Jeremie Bretz sitting
in victory lane with his tenth win of the
season at MRP. The race was not that
easy as Brett Carey led most of the
event with Bretz trying everything he
could to take over the top spot. With
just a few laps left Bretz was able to
take the top spot and go on to claim
yet another victory. Mark Kaetzel would
nip Carey at the line to claim second
with Carey, Chad Barr, and Craig
Naylor rounding out the top five spots.
Carey and Kaetzel each claimed heat
race victories.  At intermission the kids
all had a blast with foot races on the
front stretch.  Congratulations to
everyone!!

9-18-09 L&M Performance Season
Championship at MRP!!
 L&M Performance helped put an
exclamation point on the season long
point battles at Moler Raceway Park by
adding to the purse for the Late Model
Division. With twenty cars on hand and
the Championship settled before
racing began, it was all about the 30
lap $1,500 payday. In heat race action
it was John Whitney Jr and Jason
Jamison taking heat race wins and
setting the front row for the feature
event. On the initial start to the race
Ron Strack had problems and would
bring out the caution just as the green
came out but the story was that of pole
sitter Whitney leaving the track and
being unable to restart the race. At the
green it was Jamison jumping out front
with Barry Doss in second. By lap eight
it was clear to see that Jamison was in
a class all to himself out front while
Doss, Rick Combs, Daryl Herbert , and
Larry Pickelheimer Jr had a great
battle going. A lap 20 caution set the
stage but in the restart it was more of
the same as Jamison jumped out to a
big lead once again. In the end it was
Jamison taking home the $1,500 with
Doss second followed by Rick Combs,
Greg Johnson, and Larry Pickelheimer
Jr.

In the Cheapbowlingballs.com modified
division it was another 23 car field on
hand but the story was the close points
race between Doug Adkins and Dave
McWilliams as only 65 points
separated the two drivers coming into
the night. In heat race action both
drivers would win their heats as well as
Matt Hamilton winning the third heat
race. In what looked like a starting line-
up favoring the points leader Adkins as
he and McWilliams would line up on
the front row it almost turned into a
nightmare as the “The Buzzard” would
spin in front of the field on the opening
lap and after being hit by a couple of
cars was able to restart the race from
the tail but now facing a much larger
task as the points chaser was now in
the catbird’s seat. On the restart it
would be Weasel Rhodes jumping to
the lead with McWilliams dropping to
third place while Adkins would charge
through the field trying to make up
positions. Meanwhile it was Rhodes
and Matt Hamilton putting on a great
battle for the top spot but it wasn’t until
lap 13 the Hamilton in his Diamond
Racecar able to take control of the top
spot and set his sights on victory lane.
At the checkered it was Hamilton
claiming his first win at MRP while
Rhodes held on for second followed by
McWilliams, Dave Jamison, and Adkins
rounding out the top five. With his
charge through the field Doug Adkins
was able to solidify his second
consecutive track championship at
MRP!!

In the ever-growing US Race Gear
Street Stocks there were 19 cars on
hand.  Grant and Bretz took the heat
race wins.  And in feature action it was
another Jermie Bretz show as he would
take the lead on lap one and lead the
entire race to claim his eleventh victory
of the season in his H & H Continuous
Guttering, Get-R-Done Graphics, Reis
Garage machine. Mark Kaetzel would
come home second followed by
newcomer Bartley Grant, Craig Naylor,
and Kevin Tuggle.

Another 26 Chevettes were on hand in
the Holman Motors division with Trevor
Moffat, Jeff Watson, and Kris Parker
taking heat race wins. In the B-main it
was Rusty Yarger taking the 12 lap
win. In the feature things would start a
little rough as the pole sitter would spin
on lap one and have to restart from
the tail with some damage done. Kris
Parker would lead the field through the
first lap and a couple of restarts but
after some mechanical difficulties on a
restart it was all Jeff Watson as he put
a cap on his championship winning
season by taking yet another feature
win. Josh Francis would come home a
close second with Paul Luers, Miles
Tarvin, and Eric Weaver rounding out
the top five spots.

With several cars signed up for the
Mechanics race, there were two races
held.  Kaetzel won the first race and
Tim Spires won the second one.
Congratulations to everyone!!  Track
Champions for 2009 were in the
Sunesis Construction Late Model
Class “The Boss” Barry Doss.  In the
Cheap Bowling Balls UMP Modifieds
the Champion is Doug Adkins.  Jeff
Watson was crowned Champion of the
Holman Motors Chevettes.  And
Jeremie Bretz, Champion of the US
Race Gear Street Stocks.
Congratulations to all our Track
Champions!!

Only two more races left for 2009,
September 25th 3rd Annual Fallfest
featuring Holman Motors Battle of the

11-21-09 MRP finishes season with
Turkey Gobbler 30!!

When it was first announced as a
scheduled event most people said you
can never race in Ohio this late in the
season. Mother Nature who has given
Moler Raceway Park fits all season
long, finally cooperated and allowed
the ¼ mile speed plant to pull off the
Coca Cola Turkey Gobbler 30. With a
large crowd on hand there were 25
Late Models, 37 Modifieds and 25
Chevettes.

In the Sunesis Construction Late
Models, during qualifications it was
Bradford, Ohio’s Wayne Chinn setting
fast time with a 12.493 lap. During heat
race action it was Chinn, Barry Doss,
and Jason Jamison taking the wins. In
the B-main event it was Mike Myers
taking the win setting the stage for an
exciting 30 lap A-main event. In the
feature event it was Chinn jumping to
the lead and setting sail for what
looked like an easy victory. Trouble
struck as the car suddenly slowed on
lap 24 handing the lead to Jerry
Bowersock. On the restart, it was
Bowersock but Duane Chamberlain
made a bonzai move off of turn 2 to
take the lead and go ahead to win the
$2,000 feature. Following Chamberlain
was a hard charging Jason Jamison
who ran second most of the race but
was involved in an incident with Arnie
Fields on lap 16. Following Jamison
was Bowersock with Springfield, Illinois’
John Beck and Jim Moon rounding out
the top five.

In the Cheap Bowling Balls Modified
division there were 37 competitors on
hand trying to get their last fix of the
season. In the heat race action it was
Dave McWilliams, Keith Smith, Matt
Holcomb, and Kyle Herbert taking heat
wins with Jimmy Lennex Jr winning the
B-main event. In the feature it was all
Dave McWilliams as he led all 25 laps
taking the win. The racing was tight
behind him as Kyle Herbert, Dave
Jamison, Scotty Kincaid, and Robert
Garnes completed the top five.

In the Holman Motors Chevette division
there were 25 cars on hand. In heat
race action it was Scott Ramp, Jeff
Watson, and Miles Tarvin taking the
heat race wins with John Mallott Jr
winning the last chance race. In the
feature event it was Jeff Watson and
Josh Francis leading the field
throughout the event.  Watson led the
race through lap 15 until Francis was
finally able to make the race winning
pass. Watson came home second with
Kris Parker, Kevin Riggs, and Miles
Tarvin rounding out the top five
positions.

The food drive was a huge success
thanks to all the racers, fans and
Shane Mugavin who organized the
whole thing.  As a result of the
generous fans and racers here at MRP
the food drive collected over eight
Large barrels of food, taking two pick-
up trucks to haul out the donations
and over $200 in cash.  The food will
be distributed to various food pantries
throughout Clermont and Brown
County to help those in need.  Thanks
to everyone for making this Food Drive
and the Turkey Gobbler race such a
huge success!! MRP’s Banquet of
Champions will be January 16th, check
website for further details.  Thanks for
a wonderful 2009 to all our racers,
sponsors and fans.  And
Congratulations again to Barry Doss,
Doug Adkins, Jeff Watson and Jeremie
Bretz  for their 2009 Championship
wins!!!
Well Mother Nature finally cooperated
and enabled Moler Raceway Park to
get the 2009 season started. As with
any opening night it was quite
interesting though as the rains that
had plagued the spring definitely
impacted the racing surface.

In the Sunesis Construction Late
Models there were 27 cars on hand
with Derek Fisher, Mike Jewell, Arnie
Fields ,and Wayne Chinn claiming heat
race victories. The action got started
quickly as Ed Eschmann Jr got upside
down in the first heat which was a sign
of things to come. In B-main action it
was Dean Boyd claiming victory. In the
feature it was all Wayne Chinn as he
mastered the rough surface to lead
every lap and take the checkered flag
in his Erwin Chrysler,Dodge, Jeep, CJ
Rayburn chassis machine. Coming
home second was Fisher, followed by
Greg Johnson, Barry Doss, and Jewell
rounding out the top five.

In the Cheapbowlingballs.com modified
division it was Doug Adkins and Dave
McWilliams taking heat race victories
but an incident in heat race number
two in which Daryl Phelps flipped in
turn three bringing the event to an
abrupt halt. In the feature it was Adkins
and McWilliams leading them down
with Adkins getting the jump but
something broke on the car on lap two
which allowed McWilliams to lead from
there. Another incident took place on
lap four as Ron Strack went head-on
into the turn three as he hit the fence
and rolled onto his top. Strack was
okay, and after some clean-up time the
race continued. As the race continued
it was Chuck Griffis flying through the
field and just nipping McWilliams by a
nose at the line for the victory. Ray
Branscum got 3rd with Matt Hamilton
and Shawn Tolson rounding out the
top five.

In the Holman Motors Chevette class
there were 28 chevettes on hand. The
feature event was all Jeff Watson as
he shot from his 3rd starting spot into
the lead and despite some late
challenges from Miles Tarvin never
relinquished the lead. Tarvin came
home 2nd with Josh Francis, Kevin
Riggs, and Rusty Yarger rounding out
the top five.

In the US Race Gear Street Stock
division it was Jeremie Bretz from
Maysville, Ky taking his first feature win
at MRP. Chad Minnie came home
second with John Baker, Chad Barr ,
and Rick Fields rounding out the top
five.   The 1200cc Winged Sprints put
on a great show for their heat races
but will be doing a make-up feature on
their next return to MRP.   Thanks to
everyone and we’ll see you next week!!
